When many join Deviantart it is for showing their art and maybe gain some fame. Also many are to lazy to create a own website or portfolio. In the end when it comes to Deviantart you are going to come across people which spend most of their time attacking peoples art.

When you see somebody attacking your friends artworks, famous or not famous artist you shall follow these simple rules:

5 ways to become a better fellow Devianiart

1) Never flame somebody when gained critic, try to ask why they dislike the artwork, even that you added "no critic" option. They might just want to say an opinion. Try to stop other people from flaming that person. Just out of kindness.

2) Never ever just add something as a favorite, try to leave a comment if you can. Just to show you like that artwork all the way.

3) It does not just excist one type of art style, it excist many out there and none of them is wrong. Anatomy does not always follow all types of art. But try to get a own style do not just ripp a style or copy.

4) Try to answer 30% of your comments, most become popular fast and rise fast. You will get flooded with comments and then try to take one afternoon and realy look on comments. Answer all that has a meaning.

5) Be kind , support somebody that has it hard to be shown on Devianiart. Give them the support they need.

STOP the harassment online.

Are you a fan and see somebody flamming one artwork. LEAVE it alone do not take the artists side and flame back. And never give immature critic such as :

You draw crap so shut up!"

Let´s try to make everybody feel welcome.

i dislike #2, STRONGLY. if i want to just favourite, i can just favourite. i shouldn't have to comment, okay? that's stupid, and i'm sick of people having those little icons that say "comment before you favourite!!!!!11!11" when you insist that i comment first, i just do neither. why?

i favourite often to keep track of stock i have used or want to use. do i need to comment on these? i don't think so. sometimes i like something, but have nothing else to say other than "i like this." should i be forced to comment with such mindless drivel when it's already expressed via favourite? no, and you're foolish to think so. if i leave a comment, it's because there's something particularly interesting i want to highlight or mention.

stop being such comment whores. take what you can get. a favourite is just as good as a comment; you don't have to get either of them, so stop expecting both.
